Pastor Steve Carr – founder of CCAG
Pastor Steve Carr is the founder of Calvary Chapel Arroyo Grande, serving as the Senior Pastor for 42 years. Steve came to faith in Christ in 1969 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. From 1970-1978, Steve pastored two Christian House Ministries in Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa. You can watch Steve share about his experiences with the Jesus Movement on his YouTube Channel. In 1978, Steve and his wife, Susie, moved to Arroyo Grande to start a church here. While serving this church body, Pastor Steve also formed Covenant Keepers, a ministry devoted to building and developing strong marriages that are rooted in the Word of God.
Pastor Steve retired in December of 2019, and George Nevarez now serves as the Lead Pastor. In his retirement, Pastor Steve still manages Covenant Keepers, and he continues to provide counselling to those in need.
